A beloved Mong Kok cha chaan teng since 1973, famous city-wide for its pineapple buns (菠蘿油). Besides the bun, it does the full cha chaan teng repertoire — milk tea, egg tarts, macaroni soup, satay beef noodles — at neighbourhood prices that have barely moved.

Skip the full meals if you're only here for the bun — the satay beef noodles are fine but the pastries are the draw.

Mong Kok Station (Exit D2), then a 4-minute walk down Bute Street. The queue outside the bakery counter is your landmark. Taxi drivers know it as 金華冰廳 on 弼街.

Mong Kok locals have been getting their pineapple bun fix here for fifty years. The bakery counter turns out buns all day, and regulars buy them by the bag to take home — it's the neighbourhood's default answer to 'quick something sweet'.
